Listening to Sound Files
Sound file on this site are in the mp3 format, more technically
known as MPEG Layer 3 format.
Windows
On Windows 95/98 they should get
automatically played through Windows Media Player, unless some other
audio tool like Winamp is configured to open mp3 files by default.
Unix/Linux
In Unix/Linux, the easiest way to open these files is through an mpeg
player like mpg123, plaympeg or xmms
If it doesn't play automatically, go to the Helper Applications section
of the preferences of your Web browser. If there is a mime-type
audio/mpeg defined, ask it to open it through mpg123.
Next time you click on an mp3 file link, it will get played automatically.
